CPRS OttawaGatineau is a volunteer organization. We operate and thrive because of the generosity of our dedicated volunteers. We pride ourselves on being able to provide valuable volunteer opportunities to our members.

Whether you’re a communications student, between jobs, or new to town, volunteering with CPRS is a great way to boost your résumé or expand your scope of practice.

New Professional/Affiliate Member Opportunities

We are launching a Mentor Program to support new professionals who have worked for less than two years in the field as well as PR pros with three to five years’ experience. Mentees will be invited to join our CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau Board of Directors in the capacity of associate directors. Eligibility to participate in the Mentor Program requires candidates to be a full or affiliate member of CPRS National.

Term: The volunteer term of office will be one year, from September 1, 2017 –August 31, 2018.

Student Opportunities

Join our Student Communications Council (SCC). The SCC is a representative committee of designated student leaders who are assigned to CPRS Ottawa-Gatineau board portfolios. Student leaders assist with the board’s annual campaigns and initiatives by collaborating with board directors and associate directors to meet the objectives of the respective chapter portfolios.
